Today was sadly a not so good class. We started off with a fire drill. The alarm made my ears hurt and it was cold outside so that wasn't much fun. Even better was that when we came back in Mr. Schick did another one of his pop quiz surprises that I got 2 out of 10 correct. My grade is already low in this class because I didn't submit a blog the day I was out for the play saying I was out. Because of this, I now have a C in this class (which is so unlike me) and will drop even more from this pop quiz. It doesn't make sense but oh well I'll survive I guess. I mean it's only a few days into the second quarter and my grades are already falling apart. I even told myself that my goal for this marking period was to get my grades together and make honors. First quarter my GPA was 3.987. I guess not enough. So here's hoping for this quarter. My prayers go to my grades.
Today's class was one of the most interesting ones we've had so far. Today's discussion focused mainly around what thinking globally and acting locally means. What do they mean? An example used in class today was farming. If everyone starting farming for their fruits and vegetables, it would affect grocery stores. Now of course the stores wouldn't go out of business, the fruits and vegetables rate being sold would increase. So in other words, something we did locally would effect globally. But besides this discussion we talked about our thoughts on voting. How more older people tend to vote more nowadays. This brought up the discussion of weather or not the age for kids to be able to start voting should be lowered to age 16. In my opinion, I think at this age we are too young and immature to be asked and vote for political affairs, because honestly everyone would just think the same as their parents.
