Today in human geography class, we looked at examples of different populations and how their pyramids varied based on their age, and why they perhaps might live there. The three types of population pyramids are box, cup, and Christmas tree. Here are some examples...
1. You will find that there are many old people who live in Florida, because it is a great place to retire.
2. You can see that Kansas contains more men because it is home to a very big jail. The U.S. is good at sending people to jail.
As you can see, there are different places around that world that have different populations based on what might go on in that area, or how the weather is. This is what I learned in class today, and I found it very interesting.
