Today in human geography class, we shared the rest of the projects that hadn't been shared. I learned that we have a test on Monday about population pyramids. This class isn't making much sense to me lately and I don't know how to study for it because we haven't taken good notes in this class. I have continued to have an F in this class and can't get it up even though we have done three grade assignments since. This makes this my least favorite class right now, though I thought it would be my favorite. So no, my school life hs not improved in the past few days.

Today in class you surprised me with a pop quiz that I was not very happy about. I hope I passed it. I wasn't ready at all. As Iv'e mentioned in recent blogs, I know very little on geography. I don't even know where Siberia or Brazil are and I defintily don't know what kind of people there are. But i'm not so worried about that, because I believe that you can't really know anything about a different place in the world unless you have actually been able to go there and experience it. In human geography class today, we finished dividing our regions by the various similarities they shared. My group also noticed a mistake we had been making and fixed it. That was that we weren't exactly dividing the regions to their correct category. For example, when we compared the different maps of presidential votes, we mistakenly put a few states together that weren't always 100% together. Some might have gone democratic one year while the others might have gone republic. I also hadn't picked up that we could divide them up based on weather/temperature. This caught my eye on a few states that were out of place as well. This changes things! This is what also divides us into different cultures. Culture is what makes up a specific region or group of people based on customary beliefs, material traits, and social forms. Today in human geography class we went over our tests that we recently took. I am proud to say that I no longer have an F in this class. I received an 85 on this test and feel very good with my work. I'm really not the F type so you can imagine that this grade sitting here for a week or two really made me a freak. After this, we talked more on the kiva.org project. Unfortunately I have not been able to make a donation yet, but will finish that tonight. I checked over the weekend to double check the people I had considered lending to, and found that both had either made their goal, or had run out of time. So tonight I will do a little more research and find another person to help out. I think this is a really great website to help those in need. It seems to be very effective. I hope you continue to make this an assignment for the rest of your teaching years!
