Another day of our Human Geography class has gone by, where we have discussed different locations of the world and how they differ from others. For example, an example of our different locations was me. I live in Cecil County where most of the kids in my class live in Harford County. Most of us have probably been to Cecil County, but if you haven't this is what it is like. Cecil County is more trees and grass land, while Harford County is more houses and buildings. This means that I most likely have more land than those who live in Harford County. I don't live in a neighborhood, when the majority of you guys do. However, I don't live close to the things I would like to be closer to like school, shops, restaurants, etc. Cecil County is kind of like the boonies to you guys if you think about it. Our pay is also very different. The taxes in Cecil for land are not as much as in Harford County. That is why we are able to have more land and still be able to pay for it. Most people in Harford don't have acres of land because a lot more people live in that county, therefore more money.
Today's class was one of the most interesting ones we've had so far. Today's discussion focused mainly around what thinking globally and acting locally means. What do they mean? An example used in class today was farming. If everyone starting farming for their fruits and vegetables, it would affect grocery stores. Now of course the stores wouldn't go out of business, the fruits and vegetables rate being sold would increase. So in other words, something we did locally would effect globally. But besides this discussion we talked about our thoughts on voting. How more older people tend to vote more nowadays. This brought up the discussion of weather or not the age for kids to be able to start voting should be lowered to age 16. In my opinion, I think at this age we are too young and immature to be asked and vote for political affairs, because honestly everyone would just think the same as their parents. You hear kids arguing politically, but you know it's just them tal...
