I'd like to begin saying that I successfully emailed my blog to you last night. I've never been too great with technology, so that was a plus. Secondly, I can't tell you how interested I am in your class already. In my old school, we didn't have human geography but just social studies where we covered the basics like wars and how the people of that time lived. So I hope to expand that topic and learn of different times of different people. I say I'm already interested because of the little speech you gave us today. It's so true. The conflict with our generation so far, is how people think so strongly of their opinion that they can't even stop to listen to someone who thinks differently than them. It's the same way when someone is different from them. This often happens when it comes to people being gay/lesbian or transgender. As well as religion and politics. When I made up my mind to attend John Carroll, I expected to be that little freshman girl who is constantly getting lost, doesn't know how to use her computer, and knows just about no one. They keep telling me to get involved in clubs and sports (which seems like I'm doing pretty well at that). It's now day two and I already feel apart of the school. I was scared I wouldn't be able to keep up with my work and do all the things I wanted, but I believe that John Carroll is the type of school welcoming you to try hundreds of new things out, while still working around your schedule. It really is going to be a family! I went to Perryville Middle School, so I don't know anyone from schools in Harford County except for my friends from gymnastics. So meeting knew people is definitely going to be harder, but the people I've had the pleasure of meeting so far all seem really nice. Because John Carroll is so welcoming to different schools, I'm in the same boat as a lot
